On Sunday, Joe and I headed over to our new place to do some cleaning. To me, there is nothing worse than moving your stuff into a new place that’s dirty in some sense… am I right? There was a lot of bleaching, sweeping, mopping, and just general wiping down of surfaces but I’m glad to report that we will be able to bring our stuff in without any worry. It was actually pretty clean before we started, which was a wonderful surprise.
With that said, I realized that I forgot my camera at home when we were about 75% of the way there. Talk about a blog fail. No need to worry – I took some nice pictures on my phone, cleaned them up, and posted them on the blog. Everyone wins!
This weekend, I spent time cleaning up the home section of the blog so if you look up in the menu bar, you’ll see “HOUSE TOUR”. You can either click their or click on the apartment tour you’d like to see. Or you can go on the official tour here (which is the easiest option).
PS – One detail about our new apartment that isn’t shared in the tour… all of the doorknobs – I’m talking to actual rooms and closets – look like this:

I’m really excited about apartment #3 (I sort of wish we could move in there now!).
What did you guys do this weekend? Anyone else get a little carried away when it comes to cleaning before moving into a place? Got a horror story to share? I can start the discussion by saying that in this apartment, we found dog hair everywhere… including the inside of the oven.

Oooh it looks lovely! You’re allowed to paint the walls then? That’s great!
It’s really lovely. You are so lucky that you are allowed to paint and change rented apartments, that’s not usually possible over here. Good luck with the move when it comes xox
Yay! Thanks for posting pics! It will be fun to see all that you do with the new place!
Thanks for the tour! Great apartment! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
It looks like such a cute and charming little apartment! I love the door handles and the tile floor in the bathroom is cute!! The built-ins are pretty great too- can’t wait to see you personalize those a bit! Good luck with your move : )
Love those doorknobs! The house I grew up in was about 100 years old and had beautiful glass knobs. Nothing like them!
Yay!! Your apartment looks adorable! I LOVE the built-ins and the door knobs! *swoon!*
I can’t wait to see what you guys do with the place.
When my sister moved into her house, they had to have the ducts cleaned because every time they turned on the air/furnace dog/cat hair would come out the vents (there was enough hair blown out to reproduce several dogs).
On no! Glad it was an easy fix (although it seems like it would’ve been very annoying!).
I’m dying with jealousy over here! That butlers pantry would make a perfect craft nook – just saying!
I love your idea! If our kitchen table doesn’t fit in that room, we’ll probably throw a desk in there and use it as a mini office… but I’m more fond of having a craft room!
Oh how I hate other people’s dirt…but hair in the oven!? What the heck? Our house was pretty gross when we moved in. The former owner had a bird that apparently roamed the house…and pooped anywhere!
That is great that you guys were able to get over there and clean up before you bring anything in!
So lovely Kristen! I absolutely love the new place Kristen! Can’t wait to see what you do with it! :)
I love your new layout! I need to catch myself up on what you guys have been up to! Congrats on finding a new place!!! I’m off to check out the official tour now! :)
We did the same thing before we moved in! Everything needed to be scrubbed down before we brought our stuff up from the basement! And those door knobs are sooo amazing! Off to check out the apartment tour now! :)
Now that is a seriously gorgeous door knob! I bet your apartment is amazing :) xx
